Bikini Line Laser Hair Removal in Plano, TX.

For many women, shaving becomes a burden over the years. There are several areas of the body that women commonly keep clean-shaven, and the bikini line is always on that list. Shaving can cause razor burn and other skin irritations that can be very embarrassing when others are able to see the affected area. If you are tired of shaving your bikini line, you should consider laser hair removal. Bikini line laser hair removal is very effective and the results are long lasting. It is in your best interest to receive your laser hair removal before you are going to be exposing your bikini area because it will take a few treatments for the hair to completely disappear. When you are ready to stop shaving and move forward with bikini line laser hair removal, contact a plastic surgeon in your area to discuss your options.

Common Myths

Many women that are interested in bikini line laser hair removal often feel that they already know everything there is to know about the procedure. Having false information can lead you to undergo a procedure that you normally wouldn’t want to, or to avoid a procedure that is not a big deal at all.

Many individuals think that bikini line laser hair removal is not permanent.  This is false because once you have received the full treatment your bikini line hair should not grow back. If your hair does fully grow back most plastic surgeons will work with you personally on what the two of you can do to fix the problem. Although bikini line laser hair removal is about 99% effective, you may still be left with a few strands of hair that need attention depending on how well your body responds to the treatment.

People also commonly think that bikini line laser hair removal is extremely painful. Everyone has a different tolerance for pain, but the most commonly reported pain during the procedure is the sensation of a rubber band being popped on the skin. The hair removal doesn’t require the lasers to remain in one spot on your skin for too long, so if you do happen to feel any pain it will be very minimal.

Another common myth is that everyone is a good candidate for bikini line laser hair removal. All women would love to be able to receive the procedure, but if you do not fit the criteria it could become very dangerous. Bikini line laser hair removal works best on light skinned patients with hair that is visibly darker than their skin.  Darker skinned women may be experience dangerous side effects because they do not fit the criteria. If you have darker skin and still want to undergo bikini line laser hair removal, you should contact a plastic surgeon to see if he or she is able to modify the procedure for your unique situation.

Choosing a Plastic Surgeon

When you undergo a procedure such as bikini line laser hair removal it is important that you work with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. Renaissance Plastic Surgery is the perfect place to rejuvenate your looks and become the best that you can be. Renaissance is centrally located in Plano to better service you.
Upon entering the office, you’ll always be greeted by a friendly face. And the immediate care you receive here is unlike any other office for miles around. The staff really takes the time to understand patients’ needs and make them comfortable before, during, and after they undergo plastic surgery. Although the staff is highly qualified, they do not perform consultations. Dr. Jeff Angobaldo believes that he should be the one in the consults so he is able to understand your concerns.
Many people believe that their plastic surgeon is board certified just because they are currently practicing. But the two don’t necessarily go together. State laws make it easy for surgeons to portray themselves as something that they’re not. Even though you may find a doctor saying they’re a “plastic surgeon,” if they don’t have certification it would be a good idea to keep looking. Dr. Angobaldo is a board certified plastic surgeon, so you can trust that he fully understands any procedure and is capable of successfully taking care of your needs.
Plastic Surgery is continuing to grow in popularity. Procedures such as liposuction and fat transfer are especially common, as the results look very natural. Fat transfer is able to create beautiful contouring on the body with very little downtime. This is a good alternative for those who prefer to keep things natural. Liposuction is also a great option because the skin tightens up quickly and gives you the results that you desire.
I know many people think they can’t afford plastic surgery, and I would have to say that those people are wrong. Some plastic surgeons have general prices on their websites, but at Renaissance Plastic Surgery they will not quote you an incorrect price. Every body is different, and Dr.Angobaldo will work with you to be sure you get what you want and are able to stay within your price point. If money is still an issue, there are always financing options and monthly specials that are available. A great benefit of joining the Renaissance family is that you will get discounts on future procedures.
Renaissance Plastic Surgery is a great place to go and renew your looks. With a board certified plastic surgeon you can trust, centrally located between Frisco and Dallas, experienced in many procedures including Botox, tummy tucks, liposuction, and fat transfer, Renaissance Plastic Surgery is the right choice.

Facts About Laser Hair Removal

How it works

Laser hair removal removes hair follicles by using a pulsed light to target, break down and destroy the dark pigment (melanin) in hair. This is the exact reason why this procedure works only on people with dark hair. Lasers are attracted to dark pigment, this means dark skin too and if treated it may cause discoloration on darker skin. Hair grows in three phases: growing, resting and shedding. Laser hair removal targets hair follicles in the growth stage.

 When does hair fall out?

Within 10-14 days after the treatment, hair follicles will start to fall out. Using a body scrub or sugar scrub on the treated areas helps to remove any stubborn hair follicles.

What areas can be treated?

The laser (pulsed light) targets several hair follicles at once so larger areas of the skin can be treated. Depending on the size of the area you are targeting, sit time could take anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours. Possible areas of treatment are:

  • Lower and upper legs
  • Back
  • Stomach
  • Bikini
  • Upper lip
  • Underarms
  • Chin

The most common areas of treatment for women include: the face, underarms, bikini area and legs. The most common areas of treatment for men include: the back, neck, chest, shoulders and abdomen.
