Dermaplaning Treatment in Plano, TX

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED DERMAPLANING?

Dermaplaning is an affordable and safe facial procedure that helps your skin become more radiant and much more health. It is a procedure that is usually carried out with the use of a single blade.

WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?

Dermaplaning is a highly different procedure to dermabrasion. While Dermaplaning is quick, easy and safe, dermabrasion, on the other hand, is more of a mechanical exfoliation that makes use of micro-crystals and suctioning to create exfoliation. That usually has complications such as infections and scarring of the skin.

Our Dermaplaning procedure is carried out by Dr. Plano at our office in Plano, TX. Dr. Plano uses a ten gauge scalpel will be used to scrape off the top layer of the dead skin cells gently to reveal a smoother and brighter skin complexion. It is very quick, non-invasive and a less painful procedure to undergo.

During the procedure, the dead cells on the surface of the skin are manually removed thus contributing to a smooth surface and softer skin texture. Our process helps revive the active cells on the skin and can be undergone by patients of various skin colors.

In addition to revealing a smoother skin, Dermaplaning also removes the fine vellus hair that is present on the face. This is essential because the fine vellum makes facial treatments on the skin to become less effective due to its constant trap of excess oil and dirt that do not allow the treatments to directly penetrate the skin.

The Dermaplaning procedure is specially designed to treat the vellus hair. Once the hair is cut off, the skin edges will be blunt but it will not alter the hair physiologically. However, the skin might peel off due to the time interval between the Dermaplaning procedures.

Our dermaplaning procedure is suitable for all skin types. It is not recommended for people with excess acne on their skin. This is because, once the vellus hair is removed, the sebaceous gland oil might cause bacteria to grow and also lead to a breakout of acne.

It is an essentially safe procedure for patients with mature skin, that is, skin that has a buildup of dead cells like cellular turnover typically slow down as you grow older. It is also safe for use by pregnant women who cannot use chemical peels on their skin.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DERMAPLANING?

Some of the benefits of our dermaplanning procedure include:

• Helps promote a smoother skin surface

• Contributes to remove the soft facial hair that usually traps dirt and oil.

• Contributes to promoting a deeper penetration of other skincare products, such as facial treatments, by clearing all dead cells.

• Contributes to reduce the sight of acne.

• Provides an immediate result after a procedure has been taken.

• It removes the signs of aging

• It is the best skin exfoliating process

• It gets rid of baby hair

• It helps your make-up and other cosmetics stay smoothly and for a longer time

• It is not painful

WHAT IS THE DURATION OF DERMAPLANING?

To perform the procedure, Dr. Plano will make use of continuous but short feathering strokes to improve the general appearance of the face. Then the entire face from the forehead to the chin will be treated for about thirty (30) minutes. The procedure can be performed every 3-4 weeks, that is, once in a month. Treating your skin continuously this way helps you remove about 2-3 weeks accumulation of dead skin cells. Your skin will need to complete its normal rejuvenation cycle within 30 days before another treatment is carried out on it again.

Following the first procedure, the skin will immediately look radiant and soft which usually makes you feel very young again.

If you are a regular skin popper or skin peeler, when your procedure is done, ask Dr Plano to show you the pile of dirt that came off with the blade. The sight will shock you. After that, touch your forehead immediately and you would definitely realize how soft your skin has become. Your skin automatically becomes very smooth and moist to the point that you almost believe that you are a teenager shopping for your prom dress all over again!

There are no side effects to the Plano facials procedure. Although after it has been performed, you will be advised to wear broad-spectrum sunscreens with SPF 30 or a higher number to reduce the risks of skin hyperpigmentation. Dermaplanning is often performed with a surgical scalpel thus it is often advised that the procedure should not be carried out at home. There is a common misconception that your facial hair tends to grow in darker and coarser after the dermaplanning procedure. However, this is not true. Removing the hair has nothing to do with the increase in density or the quality of the hair.

At Plano TX, we help our your skin become more beautiful and help reduce the spots of redness and irritation on your skin making you young again.

Dermaplaning is a process that has been practiced for about two decades and it is usually used alongside medical skin care procedures. Due to its popularity over the years, the Plano facials process has been seen as one of the very few effective facial exfoliating treatments in the world. However many estheticians have no idea it exists and thus do not even use it. This is because it is often mistaken for another facial dermabrasion.
